Category: Religious Tours

Description

Kedarnath, nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India, is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites for Hindus. Situated at an altitude of 3,583 meters, the Kedarnath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and lush green meadows, Kedarnath offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The temple, believed to have been built by the Pandavas and later revived by Adi Shankaracharya, is accessible by a 16-kilometer trek from Gaurikund.

The town and temple are open to pilgrims from April to November, as heavy snowfall makes the area inaccessible during winter. Kedarnath is not only a spiritual destination but also a place of natural beauty and tranquility.
